Having been in the automotive industry his entire career, Dean has vast and varied experience in Sales and Service and BDC.
He graduated from Jasper Place High Composite School, Edmonton AB. Over the course of the next 6 years, he had reached Technician status in both automotive and heavy equipment repair.
Over the next 15 years he held management positions in Sales, Service and was ultimately, promoted to General Manager .
Throughout that time, Dean also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration as well as a Master’s in Business Administration, graduating with distinction, with both degrees.
In 2005 Dean was approached by Reynolds and Reynolds, to work as a virtual and in person consultant. Travelling across Canada, he helped dealerships with various processes and strategies in sales, service and BDC to increase dealership productivity, efficiency, customer satisfaction, profitability etc.
After much encouragement and support from his clients, friends and family, in 2008 Dean started Automotive Performance Solutions. Thinking it would be an interesting opportunity for a year or two, this year marks his 14th year as Owner & President of APS.
The business has grown from consulting with dealerships to include consulting and performing special projects for Canadian Automotive Association (CAA). Additionally, Dean serves as the General Manager of the Central Ontario GM Dealers Association (CODA). He also represents CODA as a committee member of the board directors to the Canadian Automotive Business School of Canada at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario.
Dean’s 25 years of working in the dealership environment, including his 15 years of management as well as his extensive travel across Canada, visiting over 200 dealerships with Reynolds & Reynolds, gives him a strong understanding of dealership operations. He relates well with all people, from every walk of life and every position in any retail or service operation. It is his vast and rich experience as well as a love of the automotive industry, that makes Dean so effective for his clients and the organizations that he represents.
